Prepare & heal
Healing begins before your tattoo!
Each tattoo is a partnership between you and your artist—following pre-care and aftercare instructions gives you the best chance for beautiful results.
Pre-Care
Consult Your Doctor: Some medications can affect healing; check before booking.
Avoid Caffeine & Alcohol: Limit both on the day of your tattoo.
Avoid Sun: Keep skin out of the sun and tanning beds leading up to your appointment and during healing.
Prepare Soap: Get a gentle, fragrance-free soap suitable for sensitive skin.
Aftercare
Traditional Method:
Clean Gently: Wash 2-3 times daily for the first 2-3 days with fragrance-free, antibacterial soap. Use warm water, lather gently, and pat dry.
Moisturize: After the initial days, moisturize 2-3 times daily. Adjust washing frequency as needed, but always keep it clean and hydrated.
Second Skin Bandage (Saniderm/Tegaderm):
Wear for 3-7 Days: Keep the bandage on for up to 7 days to protect and speed up healing. It's normal for plasma and ink to collect under the bandage. For best results, keep the area dry and free from unnecessary friction or pressure. If your tattoo is exposed, remove it and switch to traditional aftercare (above).
Showering Tips: You can shower with Saniderm on, but avoid soaking it. Keep it free from prolonged water exposure, as moisture buildup can compromise the bandage.
Remove Carefully: When ready, gently peel off the bandage in the shower for easier removal. Slowly lift the edge and peel it back, avoiding quick pulls.
What to Avoid:
Swimming: Avoid pools, hot tubs, lakes, and beaches, as submersion may cause the bandage to lift.
Excessive Heat & Steam: Limit hot showers, saunas, or steamy environments.
Heavy Exercise: Try to avoid high-sweat activities that may cause the bandage to loosen or build up fluids and sweat.

Permanent Makeup
Pre-Care
Consult Your Doctor: If you’re on medications, check with your doctor first.
Bring ID: All clients must be 18+ years.
Share Your Style: Arrive with your brows filled in as you like them; this helps me understand your goals.
Avoid: Caffeine, alcohol, aspirin, ibuprofen, multivitamins, vitamin E, and omegas the day of your appointment if your doctor permits. Skip chemical peels for 60 days and Accutane for 1 year.
Sun Exposure: Avoid tanning and heavy sun exposure.
Skin Products: Discontinue hydroxy acids and lightening products 2 weeks prior, retinol at least 1 month prior (ideally 3 months!).
Natural Brows: Let brows grow out before the appointment; avoid waxing/threading 48 hours before.
Aftercare
Wash Once Daily: Use a gentle liquid soap and fingertips to clean. Rinse carefully and air dry.
Hydrate: Apply a thin layer of aftercare balm with a clean Q-tip after washing. Continue until flaking stops.
Avoid: Makeup directly on your brows, high water pressure, hot water, swimming, steam, pet contact, excessive sweating, picking, and scratching. Skip tanning beds and avoid direct sun for extended periods. Hold off on facial treatments and retinol products for 30 days.
